SWIG Services Ltd

South West Investment Group Services Ltd (SWIG Services) is the Fund Management arm of the group. Established in 1992, its main activity since 1996 has been the delivery of complementary loan finance to SMEs in the South West region. To date it has provided over £7m of vital investment to around 700 businesses.  

 

SWIG Services is recognised nationally as a leader in the field of complementary business finance, being a charter member of the Community Development Finance Association (CDFA) and the lead CDFI in the South West region. CDFIs are independent organisations which provide loans and support to businesses that cannot raise sufficient finance from the banks and other traditional sources.

 

The CDFA is the national trade association for CDFIs, of which there are 35 charter members throughout the UK.

 

SWIG Services holds a Consumer Credit Licence issued by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), which has been renewed annually since 1992. 

 

In February 2008, the company became the first and only agency in the South West outside the mainstream banking sector to achieve the government’s Small Firm Loan Guarantee Scheme (SFLG) accreditation, which has since been migrated to the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) Scheme.
